Analisis Pengetahuan dan Sikap Ibu Rumah Tangga Terhadap Pelaksanaan Pap’Smear Untuk Deteksi Dini Kanker Serviks di Puskesmas Petisah Tahun 2013

Abstract
To the present, cervical cancer is still the major cause of mortality in the developing countries. Pap’smear examination is one of the efforts of early detection of cervical cancer. In the working area of Puskesmas Petisah (Petisah Health Center) the coverage of papsmear examination program was only 32,4% which is asumed to be related to the factors of knowledge, attitude, and need. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of knowledge, attitude, and need on the implimentation of papsmear for early detection of cervical cancer in the working area of OPuskesmas Petisah, Medan conducted 116 housewives as sample. The data for this study were obtained trough dirrect interview and the data obtained were statistically analyzed through mutliple regression logistic test at α=5%. The result of this study showed that knowledge, attitude, and need had influence on papsmear examination as an attempt of cervical cancer early detection. Knowledge was the most dominan factor in influencing the implementation of papsmear examination in the working area of Puskesmas Petisah with the value of OR = 2,928 (95%Cl : 1,293 – 6,629)
