Indonesian Islamic Higher Education Institutions Against Radicalism

ABSTRACT

Islamic education aims to make man mature physically and spiritually. Normatively, Islamic education should not be oriented around science and technology, as they are merely tools to enable humanity to reach its fullest potential. Islamic education thus aims to develop man’s character and conscience to profit from existence here and the hereafter. Islamic education is hoped to provide solutions to problems in a fast-changing globalized age at the level of society, state, and global community.

In societal development, Islamic education is challenged by rapid societal changes. Many conflicts occur vertically or horizontally. There is a need for the empowerment of Islamic Educational Institution which is always relevant to society. Using literature study, this papers aims to analyze the contribution of Islamic Educational Institution, focusing on Higher Education, against radicalism in Indonesia.

Role of Education Management to Expediate Supply Chain Management: A case of Indonesian Higher Educational Institutions

Abstract

Objective of this study is to examine the role of universities in supply chain management (SCM) in Indonesia. Among the Indonesian universities, the supply chain education is included, however, academic scholars did not pay the intention to examine the effect on SCM. Therefore, this study considered to examine the relationship between higher education institutions and SCM. Various key university related factors were considered, namely; university education system, supply chain education at university level and the role of university management. Data were collected from university teachers in Indonesia. Four hundred (400) survey questionnaires were used to collect the data. Collected data were analysed through structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. In response to the objective of the study, it is revealed that universities have significant role in SCM. Supportive education system of universities shows positive effect in SCM with mediating role of supply chain education. Additionally, university management as moderating variable strengthen the relationship between supply chain education and SCM.

Abstrak
Berkenaan dengan kualitas siswa dan lulusnya T. Raka Joni (1992) menyatakan bahwa proses pendidikan adalah upaya untuk menghasilkan manusia indonesia yang mempunyai rasa percaya diri dan mempunyai budaya belajar di masyarakat sehingga dapat membunuhkan sikap perilaku yang kreatif , inovatif , dan keinginan untuk maju sesuai dengan yang tertara dalam
GBHN 1993-1998 . Ada 4 ( empat ) model pembelajaran yang masing –masing sangat kreatif digunakan sesuai dengan jenis materi yang diajarkan , serta luas tidaknya cukupan materi tersebut keempat model tersebut berikut adalah berikut : prosedural , Hirarkikal , Horizontal , dan Kombinasi Dengan menghadirkan tulisan sederhana ini , kiranya para guru dapat melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran dengan efektif dan efsien yakni dengan cara melakukuan combine ( upaya menggabungkan beberapa strategi dalam suatu waktu pembelajaran ) . sehingga dari penggunan strategi pembelajaran yang variatif akan dapat menciptakan kondisi belajar yang menyenangkan

REGIONAL AUTONOMY AND ITS IMPACT ON MADRASAH EDUCATION

Abstract

The appearance of regional autonomy policy and decentralization in education aims to provide opportunities to educational participants to obtain skills, knowledge, and attitude which are useful to society. Madrasah could respond to to sudden change in curriculum as it does not exactly follow the national curriculum. As an educational institution born out of societal needs, madrasah integration in society is easier, as the society participates more in madrasah operation. The involvement of society is not only limited based to parents involvement, but also the wider societal involvement. As in accordance with the spirit of decentralization which takes in aspiration and participation of society, the involvement of society at large is needed to develop and improve madrasah educational quality.

Attributions and requirements of Islamic leadership

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to look into the relationship between attribution and requirements of Islamic leadership.

Design/methodology/approach

This paper describes concepts of attribution and requirements of leadership and links them to related Islamic concepts.

Findings

A correlation is found to exist between attribution and requirements of “conventional” and Islamic leadership.

Research limitations/implications

Being a practical endeavor, attribution and requirements of “conventional” leadership converge with Islamic leadership.

Practical implications

It is hoped that leaders and managers would not hesitate to apply Islamic leadership style.

Originality/value

This paper will add to the literature on Islamic leadership, especially for Indonesia.
