A Model of Lif elong Education Planning f or Private Islamic Universities in Indonesia

Abstract
Lifelong education (LE) has received serious attention from educational institutions as society and organization become more aware of the importance of updateng knowledge, skill and attitude (KSA) in an ever changing globalized age. Institutions such as private Islamic university (PIU) are in the business of offering relevant programs to fulfill societal needs. To do this, it is vital that organizational and academic staff of PIU obtain updated and relevant KSA through LE. To implement a more effective LE, critical element of LE planning were investigated systematiclly consultation and confirmationwith fourty experts, in addition of library study, and field study. Through two rounds of Delphi technique, sixteen critical LE Planing elements were identified and validated. it was found that the vision, mission, and philosophy of the university should be understood clearly by university leaders and academic staff to ensure LE success in Indonesian PIU.
